Radcliffe Humanities - University of Oxford

Client:  University of Oxford, Radcliffe Humanities

Contractor:  Laing O'Rourke

Architect:  Purcell

The Radcliffe Humanities Building was re-opened in 2012 following a major refurbishment.   Oxford Contracts was awarded the tender for the loose furniture and worked closely with Laing O'Rourke and architects Purcell.  The building is home to the Philosophy Faculty as well as the Humanities Divisional office and the Philosophy and Theology Faculty Library.

The office areas were furnished with Oblique Visual desking supplied in both white and oak finishes with matching storage.   Breakout areas on all floors of the building featured the Coach range of one, two and three seater sofa units which were specifically designed for this project

All the furniture supplied had to be sympathetic to the surroundings while at the same time providing a functional and practical solution to the multi-disciplinary users.   Individual height adjustable desk units were supplied to the first floor Library with mesh back task chairs throughout.
